Know more about this plant when you click here.

There are a lot of hype going on regarding this plant.

One of those hypes is that an ounce of wheatgrass contains the same vitamins, nutrients, and minerals to that of two pounds of vegetables.

It’s easy to see why people would want these plants growing in small pots or trays. They can easily access these plants and mix them with their morning tea if they know how to do one. With daily doses of sunlight and water, the grasses can reproduce and can sprout in no time.

For consumption, an individual needs wheatgrass that is fully grown. They can put it into a juicer or blender and make their favorite beverage out of it. When blending, one might see lots of fibrous grass casings on top of the juicer. Don’t discard this as these casings contain lots of nutrients that can benefit you in the long run.

Why Mix Wheatgrass in Your Diet?

When it comes to impressive records, wheatgrass can fight tooth and nail with other fruits and vegetables out there. Ancient Egyptians used this to cure ailments and have healthier bodies. An experiment was done by Charles F. Schnabel, where he fed chickens and made them back to perfect health was made possible by feeding them wheatgrass. This is considered as a superfood that many would not want to miss.

The benefits include the following:

1. Vast Amounts of Antioxidants and Lots of Nutrients

The plant is rich in Vitamins A, E, calcium, and magnesium. Wheatgrass also has glutathione content, which many people know has a whitening effect on the skin. There are studies in animals that prove that taking wheatgrass decreases the body’s oxidative stress. The cells can also better be protected against damages and which lessens the likelihood of a faster aging process.

2. Reduce Cholesterol in the Body

There are lots of studies done in rats that show this superfood can result in lower cholesterol levels. When the juice is taken every morning, it can reduce the total number of bad LDL triglycerides and cholesterol, leading to better heart health. Some studies show that the amount of HDL or good cholesterol also increases when there are supplements taken that are made with wheatgrass.

3. Regulate Sugar Levels

There are studies in animals that show blood sugar can be decreased when one is consuming supplements consist of wheatgrass. Research done in rats that have diabetes shows that their bodies were able to control their blood sugar better when they are given the supplements.

Aside from these benefits, you can drink the juice if you are trying to lose wheat. A shot of wheatgrass in the morning and the afternoons can make you healthier. The extract contains zero fat and lots of nutrients. It is rich in minerals such as potassium, calcium, and iron, which make the bones stronger. What people liked more is that sodium content does not even reach 1 percent.

With lots of benefits listed above, who would not want to include this on their diet? They can be healthy, and they deodorize their bodies. They can curb their cravings, they develop their muscles and bones, and they get rid of toxins inside their systems. A shot of the juice once a day can increase one’s energy levels so you would not want to overdose yourself with caffeine.

Where to Start?

As many people are learning the benefits, the next thing that they may be wondering is where they can get this plant and the supplements. Fortunately, wheatgrass is also available in powdered forms. You can get one from a trusted source such as Pines Wheatgrass in the form of seeds, liquids, or supplements.

You can also grow the plant yourself so that you can have a fresh supply every time you need a morning drink. It will only take about two minutes to prepare a shot of your beverage.

If you are buying the liquid supplements, you need to take care that you won’t expose the bottle to too much air. This is because oxygen in the air can reduce the nutrients, and you may experience reduced benefits in the process. If you prefer to take all the great benefits, freshly squeezed one can be your best option.

Planting at Home

If you decide to plant the grass at home, you need to have access to plenty of seeds. Your local farmer can provide you the seeds and ask them about the tips and tricks while you grow the plant. If you can’t find the seeds through your local farmer, there are always legitimate sites that can ship them to you. You can soak the seeds once you receive them and continuously water them until you see small emerging sprouts. Before you know it, you will have beautiful shoots that are begging to be juiced.
